Meanwhile, a notorious thief, known as Chorayan (the Thief), had been causing trouble in the village. He had stolen several valuable items, including bicycles, and the villagers were at a loss. The police seemed helpless, and the villagers were frustrated.

The plan worked like a charm. Chorayan fell for the trap, and Velamma and Kannan chased him through the village, dodging obstacles and laughing. They finally cornered Chorayan near the old temple, where he was forced to surrender.
